0. WarCraft III money breakdown January – May 2007
After five months of the running WarCraft III season there has been at least $323,210 distributed (or promised) in prize money. $245,020 of this went to individual competitions while $78,190 was reserved for team based competitions.
Of the 245,020$ that went to individual competitions 84,69% went to ten players, or a total of $207,513.
Five professional WarCraft III teams claim $57,976 of the team based competitions total of $78,190, the remainder is contributed by several DotA teams which we thank for playing WarCraft III but will otherwise be ignoring throughout the article.
A minimum of $703,707 has been announced in prize money so far this year. Of which $506,045 in individual competitions and $197,662 in team competitions.
Which means that not including unannounced competitions or competitions which prize money has not yet been released the top ten individual players should be looking at an average 40% increase of the prize money they picked up last year.
